raina completes 15 years in international cricket

Suresh Kumar Raina is considered as one of the greatest all-rounders of all time completes his feet of 15 years in cricket carrier.

On this day(July 30) in 2005, the Uttar Pradesh born made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka and also made his Test debut in the same July month in 2010 against the same team(Sri Lanka).

In his first ODI, Raina did not have a good outing as he was sent back to the pavilion on a duck. But over the years, the left-handed batsman managed to change his fortunes to become one of the finest white-ball cricketers.

The aggressive left-handed middle-order batsman and an occasional off-spin bowler is also regarded as one of the best fielders in world cricket. Raina is also the first Indian batsman to register centuries in all three formats of the game.

 

He was also a part of the 2011 World Cup-winning squad and the batsman had played crucial knocks in the quarter-finals and semi-finals of the tournament.

Raina took to social media to share his happiness and wrote, “Thank you so much guys, really overwhelmed with your love & support…These 15 years have been the greatest moments, and you guys as my family members keep me motivated. Love & Peace.

Mr. IPL – Raina: 

Suresh Raina is one such player who has etched his name in the IPL history books. He is known as Mr. IPL for his outstanding match-winning performances in every season of the tournament. Raina has been the part of the Chennai Super Kings since the first season of IPL.

Raina who is considered as one of the greatest players in IPL scripts a record by scoring over 400 runs in 7 consecutive ( 2008–2014) IPL seasons.

He recorded his highest score in IPL in 2013 by scoring 100 not out against Kings XI Punjab in Chennai, but his blitzkrieg (87 runs off just 25 balls) against KXIP in Qualifier 2 in 2015 standouts amongst all of his IPL performances.

Raina would now be seen in action for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The tournament is slated to begin on September 19 in the UAE.
