ECB Names England’s Playing 11 for Fifth Test at Dharamsala

The England Cricket Board has named their playing 11 for the fifth test of England’s tour of India 2024.

Mark Wood has been included in the playing 11 for the fifth test on March 07 after dropping Ollie Robinson who went wicketless in the Ranchi Test.

Mark Wood has been in and out of the England squad throughout the series. After concluding the first match wicketless in the opening test at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, England has been dropped for the second game in Vizag.

After losing the Vizag test by 106 runs, the visitors brought him back for the 3rd test in Rajkot.

England started the series with a positive start after winning the first test but faced defeat in three consecutive matches. However, England had chances of dominating the hosts in the match, but Rohit Sharma-led side made a comeback.

England has been placed in the 8th position of the WTC 2023-25 Points table and needs a win to advance in the table. On the other hand, India has announced their squad for the fifth test at Dharamsala.

Jasprit Bumrah who has been rested in the fourth test, has joined the squad for the Dharamsala Test. KL Rahul was expected to join the squad but was ruled out for the final game as he failed to regain fitness.

The fifth test will kickstart at 09.30 AM IST starting on March 07 at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium.
