BCCI Fined Harshit Rana on Mayank’s Dismissal Celebration in IPL 2024 Clash

The pacer Harshit Rana has been fined for breaching level 1 of the IPL Code of Conduct during the clash between Kolkata and Hyderabad in the IPL 2024 campaign.

Harshit Rana receives fines for his aggressive send-offs during his team’s recent match against Sunrises Hyderabad in Kolkata. He celebrated Mayank Agarwal by sending a flying kiss towards the batter when he was on the way to the dugout.

Mayank was sent out on a catch at deep backward square leg for 32 runs on 21 deliveries. KKR lost seven wickets on scoring 208 runs in the match while SRH responded with a tough battle. Kolkata finally won the match by four wickets difference.

Shreyas Iyer led Kolkata to secure victory in the third match of the IPL 2024 campaign on March 23. Harshit played a pivotal role in his team’s victory picking up three wickets and conceding 33 runs in four overs.

Harshit Rana was fined 60 percent of his match fees for two Level 1 offenses under Article 2.5 of the IPL Code of Conduct. According to regulations, the breach involves in fine of 10 percent and 50 percent respectively.

Rana accepted the sanctions imposed by the Match Referee. “Kolkata Knight Riders bowler Harshit Rana has been fined a total of 60 percent of his match fees for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during his team’s Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on March 23.”

“Rana committed two Level 1 offences under Article 2.5 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct. He was fined 10 percent and 50 percent of his match fees for the two respective offenses.

Rana admitted to the two offenses and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding,” read the statement from IPL.

Harshit Rana also did the same for Heinrich Klaasen after dismissing him in the final over of the match. He dismissed the batter for 63 runs off 29 balls which included 8 sixes. He currently tops the list of most sixes in the tournament. Suyash Sharma took a superb catch while running backward for a short third.

Shreyas Iyer-led side ascended to third place in the IPL 2024 points table accumulating 2 points. Kolkata Knight Riders will be playing their next match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on March 29 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
