IPL 2022 Mega Auction Date and Place: The much-awaited event IPL 2022 Mega Auction will be held on February 12 and 13 in Bangalore. Earlier it was rumored to be held during the second week of January 2022.

Ahead of IPL 2022, BCCI had added two new teams Lucknow and Ahemdabad taking the overall team count to 10. Right after the inclusion of 2 new IPL teams BCCI decides to hold a mega auction for the IPL 2022 season. As the initiating step of the IPL 2022 mega auction, all 8 existing teams have announced their retained player list for the IPL 2022.

• Hugh Edmeades was confirmed as the auctioneer for IPL 2022 Mega Auction. He’ll be auctioning in his 4th straight IPL auction.
• BCCI decides to host the IPL 2022 mega auction on February 12 and 13 in Bangalore. Notably, India will play the 3rd ODI against West Indies at Kolkata on February 12. Check IPL 2022 mega auction live streaming details.
• The BCCI is planning to hold the two-day mega Indian Premier League auction on February 7 and 8 in Bengaluru, a senior BCCI official said.

Also, the reports suggest that the delay has taken place because of the discussion on the approval status of the CVC Capital Partners who were dragged under controversy after buying the Ahmedabad franchise.

“IPL 2022 mega auction will take place in the first week of February as Bangalore and Hyderabad are the frontrunners to host the mega event,” as suggested by reports.

Sanjiv Goenka and CVC Capital have won the bidding war among nearly 10 competitors which was hosted by BCCI in Dubai on October 25, 2021. The BCCI gets a whooping 12,690cr (1.7 Billion dollars) from the sale of 2 New IPL Teams.

The Lucknow franchise has already selected Andy Flowers and Gautam Gambhir as the staff of the franchise with Flower as the head coach and Gambhir as a mentor. According to Cricbuzz, the IPL 2022 is most likely to begin from April 2 in Chennai. However, the official announcement of the dates is also awaited.
