Why did MS Dhoni reduce his Salary?
IPL 2022 CSK Squad: Right after CSK announced their retained players list fans gets in shock on seeing THALA in the second place. MS Dhoni has been retained for only INR 12 Crores in the IPL 2022.
Will CSK retains MS Dhoni in IPL 2022?, this is the thing that every CSK fan might worry about.
Yes!! Dhoni will retain and lead CSK in IPL 2022 Mega Auction. The news has been confirmed by a CSK source.
He stated that “MS will be the first man to be retained, there is no doubt about it. But first of all we need to know the retention rules, which we are not aware of as of now. If we can retain (players), Dhoni will be first to save”.
MS Dhoni Doesn’t Want CSK to retain him
The CSK skipper led the franchise to their fourth title in IPL 2021 and has not announced his retirement from IPL yet.
Regarding his possible retention, Dhoni said after the IPL 2021 final that the priority during the mega-auction would be to secure a core for the team that can be maintained in the long run.
“Again I’ve said it before, it depends on the BCCI. With two new teams coming in… we have to decide what is good for CSK. It’s not about me being there in the top three or four. It’s about making a strong core to ensure the franchise doesn’t suffer. The core group, we have to have a hard look to see who can contribute for the next 10 years,” Dhoni said.
MS Dhoni doesn’t want Chennai Super Kings to retain players as availing that feature might force the franchise to shell a lot of money, owner N Srinivasan has revealed.
“MS is a very fair person. He wanted the retention policy to come out as he didn’t want CSK to lose money trying to retain him. That is the reason why he gave different replies to people. However, he made a very regnant statement. On being asked about the legacy he left behind, he said I am not gone. So, that says it all,” Srinivasan told.
