Team India batsman Kedar Jadhav has reviled how MS Dhoni has helped him shape his career and also named the former skipper as his favourite cricketer.

Jadhav’s comments came during an Instagram Live session on the official handle of Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

“With my potential, I would have played 20 odd matches, but whatever I have played after that, I owe it to MS Dhoni. He has helped me to express my game. He has a calming effect on me. If you are getting that confidence from the captain, there is nothing like that. MS Dhoni is my favourite cricketer,” Jadhav said during the Instagram Live session.

“MS Dhoni has also scolded me in the past, but his scolding is often through his eyes. And when he does that, I know I have to pull up my socks,” he added.

Jadav feels for not able to play with Indian legendary batsman

The 35-year-old then went on to add how he still regrets not being able to play a single match with the legendary Sachin Tendulkar in his lifetime.

“Growing up, my favourite cricketer was Sachin Tendulkar, I regret not playing with him for India. However, when I met MS Dhoni, I thought he would be strict. I have played many matches against him in the IPL, but after meeting him, I do not see any other image coming in my mind when someone asks about my favourite cricketer,” he claimed.

“Salman Khan or MS Dhoni” : Jadav picks

Jadhav, who is an ardent Salman Khan fan, was put in a spot when he was asked to choose one superstar between MS Dhoni and Salman Khan.

To answer this question, Jadhav replied, “Both of them are superstars but because of MS Dhoni. I played for the duration I did and because of him only. I got to meet Salman Bhai, it is difficult to choose one, it is like asking to choose between mother and father.”

Shami reveals Kohli’s weakness

Shami, during his interview with IANS, said that he now knows all the strengths and weaknesses of “run machine” Virat’s batting thanks to the time he has spent with the robust batter.

“There are a lot of things that come with playing and spending quality time with another player. You not only come to know of his strengths, but also of his weaknesses. As a bowler, you need to keep working on the weak zones,” Shami said.

“There is no denying the fact that he is the best in the business, but even the best has those little flaws which you can work on. You just need to pick on one factor and focus on that,” he said.

“Say for example, which has been the area that has troubled a batsman in recent times? You then work on that. I have dismissed him quite a few times (in the IPL) and without getting into much details, I will say you have to just work on the weak zone,” he further added.

Earlier Pakistan former speedster Shoaib Akhtar believes he has the formula to send the Virat Kohli packing back. Akhtar, in an Instagram Live video, said he would get rid of Kohli if he was to bowl to him.

The 29-year-old also spoke on Kohli’s captaincy and said: “Do I need to say this? I think the results bear testimony to the fact that Virat backs us to the core. He has always given us that freedom to do what we feel confident about.”

“Also, it is very important at the international level to have a captain who knows your strengths and weaknesses and also backs you. This in turn helps you raise your game.”

“Also, Virat has a lot of trust in our abilities and he gets the result because as a bowler, all you need is for the captain to back you and believe in you and your vision,” he added.

Since October 2017, he has been the top-ranked ODI batsman in the world and is currently holds 2nd position in Test rankings with 886 points. Kohli has the best over all ranking with a points in Test rating (886 points), ODI rating (869 points) and T20I rating (673 points).

“Pehle ke time kuch aur the” : Harbhajan Singh Reacts to Yuvraj Singh’s Remark of few Role Models in Team

Harbhajan Singh dis agree to Yuvraj Singh's Remark of few Role Models in Team

Indian former all-rounder Yuvraj Singh had a dream run at the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, where he scored 362 runs including one century and four fifties, took 15 wickets, won four Man of the Match awards.

On 10 June 2019, Yuvraj Singh announced his retirement from international cricket. Yuvraj Singh held a press conference in Mumbai where he announced his decision to retire from all formats of the game.

Earlier Yuvraj Singh mentioned that he didn’t receive any support from Indian team captains after Ganguly.

Yuvi on Instagram live

Yuvraj Singh in an Instagram Live with Rohit Sharma had said that leaving Virat Kohli and the ‘Hitman’, there were not many role models. However, veteran India bowler Harbhajan Singh does not agree with the same.

“In this team, seniors are you (Rohit) and Virat (Kohli) who play all three formats. I just feel since social media has come, there are very fewer guys to look up to. That sense of respect for seniors…it has become a thin line,” Yuvraj had said in an Instagram Live chat with Rohit.

Reacting to his former teammate’s remarks, the Indian spinner said that he did not feel the same till he was with the team.

“See every team has a different culture. Pehle ke time kuch aur the (times were different before). Now, these are different times. What Yuvi has said, I don’t know in what context he said these things, but I played till 2016 and I never felt anything like this,” news agency IANS quoted Harbhajan as saying.

“Now I haven’t been in the team since 2016 so I cannot comment on this current bunch. But till the time I was there, I never felt anything. Yes, the team has changed a lot since 2016. So maybe Yuvi can give you a better answer to this as he knows the context,” Harbhajan said.

As for Harbhajan Singh, his last appearance for India was in 2016 T20I against UAE in Dhaka. He has taken 417 wickets in 103 Tests at an average of 32.46 in his career.

He also took 269 wickets in 236 ODIs at an average of 33.35. The right-arm off-spinner has also played 28 T20Is for India and has picked 25 wickets at an average of 25.32.

Veteran India spinner Harbhajan Singh has been active on across social media platforms to raise awareness regarding the novel COVID-19 pandemic.

Making wise use of his Twitter account, Harbhajan is frequently seen urging people to follow all government directives during this global crisis.

In a recent interview with IANS, Harbhajan disclosed how his team in hometown Jalandhar is working round the clock to aid people regarding delivering basic essential food items.

“We have a team there who are working round the clock. I am in constant touch with them from Mumbai. We maintain social distancing norms strictly. We have made circles where they stand, away from one another, collect their food and go to their homes,” Harbhajan was quoted as saying by IANS.

Harbhajan Singh passes verdict on MS Dhoni’s participation

Harbhajan, who is currently a part of Indian Premier League franchise Chennai Super Kings, had been vocal about agreeing to play IPL 2020 without spectators. With the cash-rich league officially getting postponed until further notice, one can’t pass any concrete statement regarding its future.

With Harbhajan playing the last two IPL seasons for CSK under Mahendra Singh Dhoni, he was asked if the former captain deserves a spot in the Indian team for the forthcoming ICC T20 World Cup in Australia. While Dhoni’s form in IPL 2020 would have given a hint regarding his comeback, even that chance seems lost now.

Hailing the 38-year old player’s potential and all that he has done for Indian cricket, Harbhajan clearly mentioned that the selectors should pick him if the team needs him during the world event later in the year.

“How do you judge [MS] Dhoni? Do you see his IPL form or give him respect and consider the fact that he is one of India’s greatest players and captains. The guy has done a lot for Indian cricket.

“MS Dhoni is a big big player. He doesn’t need to be told if he is capable or not. So I don’t think you need to ponder too much about it. If you think you need Dhoni, and if he is available, you pick him,” Harbhajan said.

For which Sri Lanka Cricket (SLA) proposed their idea to host IPL in their stadiums in order to prevent he huge loss.

Since Pakistan and India have not played a match from 2008, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suffered a revenue loss to the tune of USD 90 million in its last media rights deal.

India only play against Pakistan only in ICC tournaments due to the diplomatic tension between the two nations.

Earlier Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ehsan Mani has provided an update on the probable future of the Asia Cup amid coronavirus outbreak across the globe.

Pakistan Cricket Board too face loss

According to a reliable source, PCB’s last five-year deal, which expired this month, included two home series against India, Hindustan Times.

The broadcasters who signed the contract worth 149 million dollars had a condition that the series would be held against India.

“Unfortunately since Pakistan was unable to play the two home series against India as included in the agreement, Ten Sports and PTV the two broadcasters who had taken the rights deducted 90 million dollars of the total sum as per the agreement,” the source said.

The PCB is also said to have faced financial disagreements with its last broadcaster over unscheduled home series against West Indies.

The source added that the PCB has started exploring the market to get good money for its international home media rights deal either short or long term.

“The problem is that right now due to the Coronavirus pandemic the situation in the market is bad. In fact, the situation for cricket broadcast rights has been poor since last December,” he said.

PCB Chairman, Ehsan Mani in a podcast had said that although the board had suffered losses because of the absence of series against India it can live without playing them.

He also states that “The financial impact will be felt by many countries if the ICC can’t distribute their shares from the tournament. Many countries including Pakistan will feel the pinch”.

Mani confirmed that Pakistan was to receive around USD 7 to 8 million in June and January.

Ruling out “MS Dhoni” will be unfair : Former cricketer Mohammad Kaif Backed MS Dhoni on his Retirement Controversy

Mohammad Kaif backed MS Dhoni to play in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup

Former cricketer Mohammad Kaif who played Tests and ODIs. He made it to the national team on the strength of his performances at the Under-19 level, where he captained the India national under-19 cricket team to victory in the Under-19 World Cup in 2000. He retired from all formats of cricket on 13 July 2018.

Kaif on Wednesday backed MS Dhoni to play in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, saying that the wicket-keeper batsman has ”a lot of cricket” left in him and ruling him out will be ”unfair”. “See, people may have eyes on Dhoni that how he is going to play in the IPL (Indian Premier League) and then there will be talks of the T20 World Cup but my view is different from others. I do not judge Dhoni based on his IPL form. He is a great batsman and he is fit now. He wants to play IPL, do captaincy and is showing his availability. He has a winning mentality and knows how to win games under pressure,” Kaif told ANI.

“So, I think ruling him out will be unfair. See a lot of cricket is still left in Dhoni and when a player plays for this long, there are ups and downs in his career. It happens with every cricketer, not just Dhoni,” he added.

Team India former skipper MS Dhoni has been last seen in world cup semi final match against New Zealand where India lost the match. His name hit the media when BCCI announced the center contracted player list without MS Dhoni’s name.

Despite Dhoni failing to take India over the line, Kaif termed him a ”champion player”.

“The semifinal of World Cup which we lost, everyone was expecting Dhoni to win it but it did not happen. So, from there on, people thought that Dhoni should not be there. But for me, Dhoni is a champion player. People should look at Dhoni’s record in the last 10 to 15 years. See, the current form is important but at the same time his form was not that bad that you rule him out,” Kaif said.

The ICC T20 world cup was planned to host by Australia between October 18 and November 15 this year. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the host cancelled all the in and out sports tournaments.

Indian government extend the lock down till May 3rd in order to control the spread of corona virus. “IPL 2020 season has been postponed indefinitely,” sources within BCCI told ANI on Wednesday.

“In the present scenario, life is more important than sports. I think the decision of BCCI is right. When the situation improves, we will think of sports. Sporting events all over the world have either been postponed or cancelled. In our country, cases are rising. So, as of now, the situation is not under control. So I think it”s the right decision because at this stage first priority is to beat coronavirus and save the people,” he said.

When asked about his views on the window for IPL, Kaif said: “I feel when things are sorted out and there is the possibility of games to be played, then they (BCCI) will look for options.”

Regards Indian former skipper MS Dhoni’s return many revealed their thoughts and plot the possibilities. Where Indian former player Sunil Gavaskar suggest Dhoni should retire silently and Sehwag advice team India to play with their current wicket keeper batsman.

Australian bowler Brad Hogg too predict the possibilities of MS Dhoni’s return to International squad if IPL 2020 cancelled.
