Though the deadly corona virus created various threat overall, the major fear for Indian cricket fans is about the upcoming IPL. The cash-rich Indian Premier League previously scheduled on March 29, due to the coronavirus pandemic BCCI postponed the tournament to mid of April.

The execution of postponed IPL too get in risky as the outbreak seems not in control. Indian government advice BCCI to cancel the tournament in order to avoid the crowd gathering. BCCI is in verge of losing a huge sum of money if this year IPL called off. Thus to prevent the loss BCCI search for the possible ways to host the match.

IPL 2020 plays important role in Dhoni’s carrier

This year IPL plays an important role in Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni’s carrier. Dhoni was last seen in action against New Zealand in the ICC World Cup semifinal, a game India lost. He made himself unavailable for India’s international assignments post the WC exit and was eventually dropped from the BCCI’s list of centrally contracted players in January.

Brad Hogg’s view on MS Dhoni

In addition to this Former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg also expressed his thoughts on MS Dhoni’s possible inclusion in India’s T20 World Cup squad for later this year. Hogg was asked on Twitter by a user if the former team skipper be part of the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup.

“Pending IPL performances, but sadly I think not, due to lack of international exposure lately & IPL he is playing the majority of games in Chennai (if it goes ahead) which is suited for spin not pace, the conditions he will get in Australia. #hoggytime #IPLT20,” Hogg’s tweet read.

BCCI on Dhoni’s return

Earlier this month, a BCCI source had claimed that MS will be back in contention for India’s T20 World Cup squad if his performances are above per in the Indian Premier League (IPL) this year.

“It was a pretty straightforward selection meeting and since Dhoni was obviously not in the reckoning this time (for South Africa series), there was no formal talk about his future,” the BCCI source said.

“He will be back in the reckoning only if he has a good IPL. And why only him, there are so many senior and young players who will play in the IPL. If they do well, they are ought to be considered too. So, you could see some surprise inclusions,” the source further added.
