Cricket Australia has set to make changes in the T20I squad for the upcoming Australia tour of New Zealand in 2024.
Australia T20I squad for NZ tour
Australia announced the T20I squad for the New Zealand tour on February 06. With the all-rounder, Aaron Hardie and Marcus Stoinis ruled out for the upcoming series, the side made changes in the squad.
Fast bowler Spencer Johnson has been added to the squad before the first match in the home-away tour. Adam Zampa will be eligible for the series and will be joining the side before the first match.
On the other hand, Matthew Wade will be joining the squad for the second and third games. Marcus Stoinis suffered a back injury after the T20I series in the West Indies tour of Australia in 2024.
“It’s great that the trophy will have more visibility and profile. I like the new conditions too – especially in the event of back-to-back 20-over and 50-over series.”
“It means all games will continue to be relevant, and that the trophy will remain on the line for a longer period – plenty to play for,” said Hadlee.
Johnson was added to the T20I squad to play in the West Indies tour of Australia in 2024. He joined the side during the second T20I match which was his home ground international match.
Australia and New Zealand will be playing their first T20I squad on February 21 at Wellington Regional Stadium.
