The RCB star Virat Kohli broke his silence with the hug he shared with Gautam Gambhir during the RCK vs KKR clash in the IPL 2024 season.

Virat Kohli has opened on Gautam Gambhir’s hug during the IPL 2024 at Chinnaswamy Stadium saying that the people are disappointed as the ‘masala’ is over for them. The KKR vs RCB clash has been one of the most anticipated matches as Gambhir and Virat Kohli were set to meet once again.
Kohli shared his thoughts on the season and expressed his surprise at the public’s reaction following his reconciliation with Gambhir.
“People are very disappointed with my behavior. I hugged Naveen, and then the other day, Gauti bhai [Gautam Gambhir came and hugged me. Your masala is over so you’re booing. We’re not kids anymore,” said Kohli.
Both of them had a conflict during the IPL 2023 which was considered as one of the biggest controversies of the season.
But what happened in the ongoing season’s clash between the two teams was not expected. During the match, Virat Kohli and Gambhir hugged each other and moved on. From being teammates to opponents in the IPL, and getting in each other’s faces, their equation has seen all kinds of ups and downs.
With 24 matches being concluded in the ongoing tournament, the season has been silent with no disputes, conflicts, or controversies until now. Hardik Pandya’s captaincy row at the Mumbai Indians was the only incident that displeased MI fans.
Kohli vs Gambhir has been one of the most spoken topics in the last cricket calendar. During the Asia Cup 2023, Gambhir flipped a section of the crowd who chanted ‘Kohli-Kohli’ even though he later revealed that the reason he gestured had nothing to do with Kohli.
During the World Cup 2023 match against Afghanistan, the Indian cricket world had awaited a face-off between the two where Naveen ul Haq and Kohli pulled off a plot twist like whatever happened that evening in Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium.
Despite RCB’s poor run in the IPL 2024 season, Kohli has been one of the top performers for his side as he scored 316 runs in five matches and tops the list of most runs in the IPL 2024.
Despite starting the campaign with 21 runs in the match against CSK, he came back with back-to-back fifties against Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders.
He scored his 8th IPL century on April 06 but it wasn’t enough for the side to secure victories in the match. RCB is currently positioned in the 9th place of the points table. Bangalore will be playing their next match against Mumbai Indians on April 11 at Wankhede Stadium.
