This is the second clash of the team in the league game. In their first meet-up in M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, LSG won the game by just 1 wicket in a thrilling final over.

Right after the conclusion of the 15th league game in Bengaluru, LSG batters who chased the 213 runs target made aggressive gestures in the delight of beating the home team.

Even LSG’s Avesh Khan throws his helmet to the ground in celebration and received a fine for his behaviour. RCB who toured LSG’s home ground to play their away game against the same team might have planned to take their revenge on the KL Rahul-led LSG.

As expected RCB won the match and shut out everyone who enjoyed their defeat against LSG in their home venue. Though RCB scored just 126 runs in the first inning, they managed to defend the score successfully.

As expected they were many high and low moments during the match, especially towards the end of the LSG’s innings.

Post every game, players of both teams use to shake hands and might share a few words regarding the match or in general. The same stages in the LSG vs RCB match but soon, the players start to have heated arguments.

Soon the arguments move to the next stage of a clash where an altercation took place between Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli. Soon the umpires and team members separated the duo and prevented it from getting worse.

A member, who was in one of the team dug-outs, gave a lowdown of events to PTI. “You saw on TV that Mayers and Virat were walking side by side for a few metres post match. Mayers asked Kohli why was he constantly abusing them and Virat, in turn, questioned why was he (Mayers) ‘staring’ at him? Before that (Amit) Mishra had complained to umpire about Virat constantly abusing Naveen (ul-Haq), who is a No. 10 batter.

“Gautam, sensing that things could turn ugly, pulled Mayers and told him not to have a conversation, when Virat made a comment. The heated exchange that followed seemed a bit juvenile,” he said.

“Gautam asked ‘Kya bol raha hain bol'(What were you saying?) and Virat replied, ‘Maine aapko kuch bola hi naahin, aap kyon ghus rahein ho’ (Why are you coming in between when I haven’t told you anything).

“Gautam responded, ‘Tuney agar mere player ko bola hai, matlab tune meri family ko gaali diya hai. (You abused my player and that’s like abusing my family) and Virat’s reply was, ‘Toh aap apne family ko sambhal ke rakhiye’. (Then you take care of your family).

“Gambhir’s final reply before they were separated was, ‘Toh ab tu mujhe sikhayega…’ (So now I have to learn from you…).” The eyewitness said that while it was tense and a blow away from turning into a free-for-all, it all seemed a bit juvenile at both ends. This is not the first time, the duo gets in a dirty exchange. The same happened in 2013 when Gambhir led Kolkata Knight Riders playing against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Virat Kohli Opens On The Victory

“That’s a sweet win boys. A sweet win. If you can give it, you got to take it. Otherwise don’t give it,” quipped Kohli in a dressing room reactions video that RCB posted on YouTube.

“The win was great and the fact that we got more support than the home crowd is an unbelievable feeling, it tells you all about how much we are liked as a team and how people come out and back us,” said Kohli, facing the camera.

“It was a really important win on the road. It’s a very sweet win for many reasons, most importantly for the kind of character we showed defending that total. I think everyone had the belief that we can do it and we ended up on the winning side which is really great,” he said.

Faf du Plessis, who spoke in the same video posted by RCB, said: “That’s the best version of Virat, isn’t it?. That’s when he’s at his best. It’s really awesome to be a part of it. My job is to keep things calm on the field, which I thought we did really well.”

Mike Hesson, RCB’s director of cricket operations, added: “I guess after the last match here at the Chinnaswamy where we lost off the last ball, it always felt like we were desperate to get this one. I guess you probably saw a little bit of that boil over from time to time.”
