Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Shivam Mavi has been ruled out of the remaining of the Indian Premier League 2024 owing to injury. Mavi was roped in by LSG for INR 6.40 crore during the IPL 2024 auction and was expected to play a crucial role in the team’s bowling attack.
Shivam Mavi Ruled Out of IPL 2024 Due to Injury
Shivam Mavi did not open up about the injury that he had suffered. Mavi hasn’t played a professional game since the Deodhar Trophy that took place on August 1. The injury forced the Indian pacer to miss the complete domestic season that followed.
“I will miss [the tournament] a lot. I had come here after an injury and had thought I would play matches for my team and do well. But unfortunately, I will have to leave because I have suffered an injury,” Mavi said in the video.
Mavi, who last played a competitive match in August 2023, emphasized the importance of mental strength for a cricketer during times of injury.
“A cricketer has to be mentally strong for this. If you have an injury, you need to see what you have to do to make a comeback, what things you need to take care of,” he further added.
“We got a very good team, I will keep cheering for the team and hopefully, we will win,” he concluded.
You’ll come back stronger, Shivam. And we’re with you all the way. 💙 pic.twitter.com/zYSs3URV1p
