Kolkata Knight Riders named Allah Ghazanfar as a replacement for Mujeeb Ur Rahman who opted out of the Indian Premier League 2024 owing to an injury.
Allah Ghazanfar Joins KKR for IPL 2024
Allah Ghazanfar has represented Afghanistan in 2 ODIs. The youngster has played 3 T20s and 6 List A matches and has 5 and 4 wickets respectively against his name. He joins KKR for his base price of INR 20 Lac.
Ahead of the IPL 2024 start, Mujeeb Ur Rahman enrols his name in the list of players to withdraw from IPL 2024 owing to an injury.
During the IPL 2024 Auction, Mujeeb Ur Rahman was roped in by Kolkata Knight Riders for INR 2 crores. Mujeeb Ur Rahman is the youngest player ever to play in Indian Premier League. He made his IPL debut at the age of 17 years and 11 days in IPL 2018.
Earlier, KKR roped England wicket-keeper batter Phil Salt as the replacement player for Jason Roy who pulled out of the IPL 2024 season owing to personal reasons.
Under Shreyas Iyer Kolkata Knight Riders kick-started their IPL 2024 campaign with a victory in their first game against SRH. With the victory, KKR positioned themself in the 4th spot in the IPL 2024 points table.
As per the IPL 2024 schedule, KKR will play their next match of the season on March 29 against RCB in M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
