The International Cricket Council has announced the ICC Women’s Player of the Month December 2023 nominees list which includes two players from India and a player from Zimbabwe.
ICC Women’s Player of the Month December 2023 Nominees
The candidates selected as the nominees of the December 2023 Women’s Player of the Month are Precious Marange (Zimbabwe), Jemimah Rodrigues (India), and Deepti Sharma (India).
Precious Marange (Zimbabwe)
The Zimbabwe veteran Bowler had an impressive performance as her side qualified from the Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier. She dismissed two batters in their opening match against Kenya and concluded the regional qualifiers with three Player of the Match.
Marange dismissed 3 wickets for 13 runs against Tanzania, 3/9 in the match against Namibia and 5/7 in the finals match against Uganda to restrict them to 79 all out.
Jemimah Rodrigues (India)
Rodrigues had a brilliant performance in December month after displaying impressive batting skills in all the formats of the game. She smashed 70+ runs in India’s two test victories over England and Australia.
Rodrigues continued to run a brilliant batting in the subsequent ODI encounters against Australians, smashing 82 and 44 runs in the first two matches to end the month having averaged over 60 in Tests and ODIs in December.
Deepti Sharma (India)
Indian allrounder Deepti Sharma was also a key performer in India’s Test and ODI outings during December. The test victory over England was a particular highlight, striking 67 and 20 runs with the bat and dismissed nine wickets.
Deepti Sharma was the top scorer for India in the test series against Australia. She scored 78 runs in the first innings of the match played at Wankhede Stadium.

Player of the Month voting process
The Nominees from either category are shortlisted based on their performance by the last day of the month. The Candidates are shortlisted and voted by the ICC Voting Academy and fans around the World.
The ICC Voting Academy consists of well-known journalists, former players, and ICC Hall of Fame members. They submit their votes by email which becomes 90% of the voting members.
The fans who are registered with ICC can also vote via the ICC website through icc-cricket.com/awards, which gives the remaining 10 percent. Winners will be announced every second Monday of the month.
