    ICC Announces Women’s Player of the Month Nominees for March 2024

    ICC has announced the Women’s Player of the Month Nominees for March 2024 which include two all-rounders from Australia and New Zealand and a batter from England.

    The candidates selected as the nominees of the Women’s Player of the Month March 2024 are Ash Gardner, Maia Bouchier, and Amelia Kerr.

    Ash Gardner (Australia)

    Australia’s all-rounder has been nominated again for the ICC Women’s Player of the Month. After completing the WPL campaign, Gardner featured in the Australia ODI Series against Bangladesh.

    She scored 52 runs across the two sides, with eight wickets at an average of 8.62. Her impressive spell on 3/22 helped the side to secure a big win. She was among the wickets in the next two games as well as Australia cruised to a clean sweep against Bangladesh.

    Maia Bouchiers (England)

    The middle-order batter has been impressive at top order in recent times. This is reflected in the recently concluded T20I series on England’s Women’s tour of New Zealand 2024.

    He also achieved her career-best score of 91 runs in the fourth T20I which included 12 fours and two sixes. This was the highest score by a visiting player in a women’s T20I against New Zealand. She won the Player of the Series in an emphatic series win for her side.

    Amelia Kerr (New Zealand)

    New Zealand’s all-rounder Amelia Kerr won the Player of the Month award in February 2022 and hoping to achieve the feat again.

    The Kiwi all-rounder was among the top three run scorers in the recently concluded series against England scoring 114 runs from four innings and was the second-highest wicket-taker with 6 wickets from four games.

    Despite New Zealand losing the series 4-1, Amelia Kerr put up an impressive display for his side.

    Player of the Month voting process

    The Nominees from either category are shortlisted based on their performance by the last day of the month. The Candidates are shortlisted and voted by the ICC Voting Academy and fans around the World.

    The ICC Voting Academy consists of well-known journalists, former players, and ICC Hall of Fame members. They submit their votes by email which becomes 90% of the voting members.

    The fans who are registered with ICC can also vote via the ICC website through icc-cricket.com/awards, which gives the remaining 10 percent. Winners will be announced every second Monday of the month.
