ICC has announced the September 2023 Men’s Player of the Month nominees which includes two Indian Stars and an England batter.
September 2023 Men’s Player of the Month Nominees
The candidates selected as the nominees of the September 2023 Men’s Player of the Month are Shubman Gill (India), Mohammed Siraj (India) and Dawid Malan (England).
Shubman Gill (India)
The Young star Shubman Gill was impressive during the month of September as he cumulative score of 480 ODI runs with an average of 80.
He scored two half-centuries and a Hundred during the match against Bangladesh and helped India to win the Asia Cup 2023 and ODI series against Australia.
He smashed an excellent knock of 74 and 104 runs during the first and second ODI match against Australia.
Mohammed Siraj (India)
Mohammed Siraj has thrown a handful of impressive spells during the month of September where he had a six-wicket haul against Sri Lanka in the finals of the Asia Cup where India won with 10 wickets difference. He totally picked 11 wickets in the month with an average of 17.27.
Dawid Malan (England)
The left-hander was in his own class during the month of September as he claimed the Player of the Series award for his outstanding performance during England’s ODI Series against New Zealand.
He scored 54,96 and 127 displaying his impeccable skills ahead of the ICC World Cup 2023. His scores during the New Zealand earned a strike rate of 105.72.
Player of the Month voting process
The Nominees from either category are shortlisted based on their performance by the last day of the month. The Candidates are shortlisted and voted by the ICC Voting Academy and fans around the World.
The ICC Voting Academy consists of well-known journalists, former players, and ICC Hall of Fame members. They submit their votes by email which becomes 90% of the voting members.
The fans who are registered with ICC can also vote via the ICC website through icc-cricket.com/awards, which gives the remaining 10 per cent. Winners will be announced every second Monday of the month.
