Sources confirmed that the Indian key all-rounder may miss the upcoming IPL season due to an ankle injury. This news comes after Hardik Pandya traded to Mumbai Indians from Gujarat Titans before the IPL 2024 auction.

He was on Gujarat’s retained list but was traded to Mumbai Indians as part of an all-cash deal. Pandya was part of Mumbai Indians for seven years before he played for Gujarat Titans in 2022. He led the Gujarat side to back-to-back finals in the last two seasons.

After returning to the Mumbai Indians franchise, he was named as the captain of the five title winners.

Hardik Pandya has been out of action since the ankle injury he sustained during the World Cup campaign. He missed the five-match T20I series against Australia on the home tour and also missed the ongoing India’s South Africa tour.

During his absence, the T20I star Suryakumar Yadav led the side against Australia and South Africa which resulted in a victory and a tie.

Recently, PTI has confirmed that Hardika Pandya will be missing the T20I series against Afghanistan which will be the last T20I series for men in Blues before the Men’s T20 World Cup in June 2024.
