Steve Smith | RR skipper: Will have a bowl. That boundary’s big, certainly compared to Sharjah which was a postage stamp. Certainly have to adapt. Watched the Super Over the other day. Exciting to play on a different ground.
Have played some good cricket. Boys in a good place. He (Tewatia) was under the pump but just turned it around and had such belief in the end. Same team.
Dinesh Karthik | KKR skipper: Okay with batting first. Looks similar to Abu Dhabi but it plays differently. Sharjah is a completely different fish but these two are similar. The brand of cricket we played the other day was something I’m proud of. Same team.

Ankit Rajpoot, right-arm fast-medium gets in to bowl his first over of the innings. Gill makes use of the loose ball and makes an impressive six of the second delivery. While Narine still struggles to make his comeback. At the end of the over KKR scored 10 runs for no wicket loss.

Jaydev Unadkat, left-arm fast-medium gets in to bowl his first over of the innings. Another wonderful spell from Unadkat with a catch drop of Narine KKR scored 14 runs for no wicket loss.

Ankit Rajpoot gets in to bowl his second over of the innings after losing 9 runs off his first over. Start off with a wide Rajpoot gave a couple of boundaries which makes KKR to score 25 runs for no wicket loss.
Rajpoot is up in an appeal for a caught behind, but this had come off the batsman’s thigh pad.

Shreyas Gopal gets in to bowl his third over of the innings. Andre Russell, the right-handed bat, gets in to join hands with Gill. Starts off with a boundary from the first delivery KKR ends up scoring 89 runs for 2 wicket loss at the end of the over.

Jofra Archer gets in to bowl his second over of the innings. An impressive first delivery of the over which dismissed the well-settled Shubman Gill for 47 runs. KKR skipper Dinesh Karthik gets in to join hands with Russell.

Shreyas Gopal gets in to bowl his last over of the innings. Russell’s footwork shows that he is in the mood to go with some big shots. As expected Russell makes a massive six off the third delivery.

Kuldeep Yadav gets in to bowl the last over of the innings. The victory has been confirmed by KKR as RR needed 48 runs off last 6 deliveries to bag their victory which is impossible to make. With a six and boundary off the over RR scored 137 runs for 9 wicket loss.
Kolkata Knight Riders beat Rajasthan Royals and won by 37 runs. KKR bags their second victory of the tournament.

Captain’s view
Steve Smith | Losing captain(KKR): Didn’t quite go to plan. That happens in T20 cricket sometimes, we have a few areas to improve on and keep moving forward. You could go one way or another (with the toss).
KKR like to chase, so we planned to put their death bowling under pressure but obviously couldn’t do that as we lost too many wickets upfront. Few of us still thought we were playing in Sharjah.
It did (feel a lot different), the far side is a very big side and we didn’t see too many balls going there and the other side is slightly shorter. We probably didn’t adapt to the dimensions and the wicket also dropped a few catches which cost us.
It is about forming whatever XI is best for the conditions we are facing, we will wait and see. Disappointing tonight but we need to keep moving forward. It wasn’t a great battle (with Cummins), he won easily and spoke to him now and he said you smack those in the nets, sometimes you just get a good one.
Dinesh Karthik | KKR captain(KKR): Wouldn’t call it a perfect game. Lot of areas we need to improve. The way Gill batted, Mavi bowled, Russell batted. Also, the youngsters going after the high catches.
Archer bowled really well. Wasn’t that easy a wicket to bat on. A couple of guys made it look better than it was. These boys, the journey they’ve been through when they’re not playing, is a hard one. Putting runs on the board is what we thought was the best way to go forward on this ground.

Shivam Mavi | KKR: When I started bowling, it was seaming. So I thought I’ll stick to normal lines and lengths. Before the game, we thought it would be flatter. So I just stuck to a length. Have played against these big stars before, but I knew it wasn’t coming onto the bat.
