CSK vs GT Probable Playing 11: After having a positive start in the campaign, both sides will be featuring in the replica of the IPL 2023 finals where Chennai clinched their fifth IPL title.
But there was a change in captaincy on both sides as MS Dhoni stepped down from CSK captaincy and handed the captain armband to Ruturaj Gaikwad while Shubman Gill was named as Gujarat’s captain after Hardik Pandya joined Mumbai Indians on a trade deal.
The CSK head coach Stephen Fleming said, “It’s still very early in the competition, there’s still combinations being worked out, cohesion within the team that you’re working on, so it is nice to win the early game. But a lot is going on in regards to settling in and getting into the competition.”
On the other hand, Shubman Gill said, “The way the boys held their nerves with dew coming in, it was outstanding. The way our spinners bowled made sure we were always in the game. It’s all about holding your nerves.”
