    ICC has announced the Men’s Player of the Month November 2023 Nominees which includes two players from Australia and one from India.

    The candidates selected as the nominees of the Men’s Player of the Month November 2023 Nominees are Travis Head (Australia), Glenn Maxwell (Australia), and Mohammed Shami (India).

    Travis Head (Australia)

    The Australian Batter Travis Head was exceptionally impressive during the World Cup campaign where he played only 6 matches including the finals.

    In November, he amassed a total of 220 runs in five ODIs he played with an average of 44. He smashed a century against New Zealand after his long last rest due to his injury and helped the side to win the match by 5 runs.

    During the World Cup semi-finals against South Africa, he also claimed two crucial wickets of Heinrich Klaasen and Marco Jansen. This helped them to fold South Africa for 212 runs. His 62 runs on 48 balls helped the side to advance to the finals.

    During their innings, Australia lost 3 wickets for 47 runs on chasing 241 runs. Head made a stunning score of 137 runs during the World Cup finals at Narendra Modi Stadium against India and helped the side win the match and claim their sixth World Cup title. He was awarded with the Player of the Match for his crucial knock.

    Head picked 35 runs during Australia’s win over India in the five-match T20I series where India won the series 4-1.

    Glenn Maxwell (Australia)

    Maxwell amassed 204 runs during three ODI outings last month with an average of 204 runs and a strike rate of 152.33.

    Glenn Maxwell played a Pivotal role during the World Cup match against Afghanistan where he dismissed Rahmat Shah and opened the wicket dismissal in the match for 55 runs.

    He smashed an unbeaten 201* runs and helped the side to secure victory. It was the first double century by an Australian in ODIs and the second fastest double century in history.

    He later featured in the T20I series against Australia where he scored 104 runs and helped the side to win the 3rd T20I match. He scored 104* runs off merely 48 balls which includes eight fours and eight sixes.

    Mohammed Shami (India)

    Mohammed Shami was impressive with his bowling as he picked up 15 wickets in the month with an average of 12.06 and an economy of 5.68.

    The Indian pacer Mohammed Shami continued to run an impressive play in the World Cup 2023. He picked a total of 24 wickets with an average of 10.70 and an economy of 5.26 in the seven innings he played.

    He made up an excellent performance during the match against Sri Lanka where he dismissed 5 wickets for 18 runs at Wankhede. After scoring 358 runs in the match, Shami’s bowling collapsed the batting unit of Sri Lanka.

    He helped the side by dismissing two wickets in the match against South Africa at Eden Gardens. His bowling against New Zealand in the semifinals highlighted his performance in the World Cup.

    India scored 397 runs in their innings, and New Zealand players Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell continued to hunt the score. As India’s bowling unit struggled, Shami led the team by whooping seven wickets for 57 runs which is his best bowling return in ODIs.

    Player of the Month voting process

    The Nominees from either category are shortlisted based on their performance by the last day of the month. The Candidates are shortlisted and voted by the ICC Voting Academy and fans around the World.

    The ICC Voting Academy consists of well-known journalists, former players, and ICC Hall of Fame members. They submit their votes by email which becomes 90% of the voting members.

    The fans who are registered with ICC can also vote via the ICC website through icc-cricket.com/awards, which gives the remaining 10 percent. Winners will be announced every second Monday of the month.
