Nathan McSweeney and Chris Lynn gets into the crease to lead Brisbane Heat while Rainbird opens the bowling attack. The duo makes an impressive start and scored 487 runs for no wickets loss at the end of the 6 overs.

Skipper Maxwell in the next over took charge and makes the first wicket by dismissing Chris Lynn for 28 runs. Soon after his dismissal Ahmed Daniyal in the next over draws the second wicket by dismissing Nathan McSweeney for 20 runs.

At the end of the 10 overs, Brisbane Heat scored 67 runs for 2 wickets loss. While Ben Duckett and Lachlan Pfeffer is on the verge of creating a partnership, Maxwell strikes again and dismissed Lachlan Pfeffer for 11 runs.

Finally, Steketee in the 11th over dismissed Maxwell for 37 runs and draws the first blood for the batting team. Soon in the very next over, Joe Clarke who scored 62 runs off 36 balls loses his wicket to Bazley.

But the opening duo of Melbourne Stars scored an impressive opening partnership which makes the followed players to lead the side to victory.

We really needed this win, had to keep ourselves alive, although we still need to win the next match and then hope for some results to go our way.

It looks good when it comes off (on the batting), we started well, and the way they (Stoinis and Cartwright) finished shows the power in this batting line-up. We did the match-ups with the ground, the dimensions, the size of the ground played a part as well. We kept taking wickets, I saw the catch on the replay and felt a bit special indeed.
