The Haryana-born Manu Bhaker won the first medal for India in the Paris Olympics 2024. The 22-year-old won a bronze medal in the women’s 10-metre air pistol event and became the first woman shooter from India to win a medal at any Olympics.
The Games of the XXXIII Olympiad or 2024 Summer Olympics, officially branded as Paris 2024 was scheduled to be played between 26 July and 11 August in Paris, France.
A total of 206 teams including the Refugee Olympic Team will participate in the Paris Olympics 2024 while 10,714 athletes will feature in the 32 sports(329 events).
India which made its debut in the 1900 Summer Olympics started to appear in every edition of the Summer Olympic Games since 1920. The 2024 Olympics will mark their 26th appearance at the Summer Olympics.
