Winning the toss, Bangladesh chose to bowl where Parvez Hossain and Mahmudul Hasan Joy opened the innings while Pavandeep Singh opened the bowling attack. Mahmudul Hasan was dismissed with a run-out on the second ball of the first over and Parvez was dismissed with a duck by Vijay Unni.

With dismissal of Zakir Hasan with one run by Pavandeep Singh, Bangladesh was down to 3 wickets for 3 runs. Saif Hassan came to the rescue where he scored unbeaten 50 runs while Afif Hossain scored 23 runs on 14 deliveries and was sent out by Pavandeep Singh. Malaysia innings

With the target of 117 runs, Syed Aziz Mubarak and Zubaidi Zulkifle opened the innings while Ripon Mondol opened the bowling attack. With Zubaidi Zulkifle dismissal with one run by Ripon, Syed Aziz scored 20 runs on 31 deliveries and was sent out by Rakibul Hasan.  Muhammad and Ahmad Faiz was sent out on duck by Afif Hossain. By Syed’s dismissal, Malaysia was down to four wickets scoring 38 runs.
