Due to the out break of corona virus many sports event have been called off globally. This serious situation makes peoples to panic and leads them to self isolate. Many government and health organization advice and even force peoples to stay isolate in order to avoid the social spreading.

IPL postponed

The corona virus made it’s impact globally where many countries struggles to make their next move to control the spread. BCCI postponed cash-rich Indian Premier League tp April 15 due to the same. BCCI after discussing with IPL franchise made this statement and also hints that IPL would cancelled if its cross it’s deadline(April 20).

BCCI search for it’s possible way to host the IPL because BCCI would lose huge money if the tournament went down. After having a conference call with IPL owners BCCI decide to host IPL around the last of April or at the beginning of May if the pandemic extends.

Cricket Australia regards T20 World cup

Apart from the league the upcoming T20 world cup too is in oscillation. The tournament has been planned to host by Australia later this year. Due to this global issue Cricket Australia previously announced that it would cancel all in and out matches. At that time Cricket Australia announce that it would host T20 world cup later this year.

As the effect of corona virus keeps on increasing day by day, ICC planned to have a conference regards the world tournament. Previously Australia advice Aussies players to re-consider their agreement with IPL franchise.

Teleconference by the Board

According to Indian Express, “the ICC is likely to have at least preliminary discussions on the fate of the world cup when its 18 member board of directors including heads of the 12 test playing nations hold a teleconference on March 29. It was supposed to be a full-fledged meeting over three days in Dubai before the coronavirus situation forced a change in plans.”

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has decided to take a call on the seventh edition of the mega-event on March 29. The body officials from all international boards will have a teleconference for discussing the matter concerned. According to the reports, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly will represent India at this conference.

However, Australia is expected to have a lockdown for more 6 months. In that case, the tournament will be either postponed or cancelled. Another edition of T20 World Cup is scheduled to happen in India in 2021. So we could see any one of these tournaments getting cancelled.
