Virat Kohli Opens up on his Favourite Batting Partner in an Interview with Kevin Pietersen on Instagram

Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen interviewed India captain and star batsman Virat Kohli on Instagram live. The pair spoke on several interesting topics with Kohli baring it all to the former England skipper turned commentator.

Pietersen was as candid as he has ever been during his own playing days calling Kohli out for being fashionably late as he waited for him to join the interview. The Delhi batsman then involved himself in some banter with his interviewer before they got down to business.

Earlier former England skipper Kevin Pietersen trolled Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, for his bowling. The incident took place when Pietersen was doing an Instagram live with batsman Rohit Sharma. Chahal posted a comment on the chat, saying, “KP, you are my first test wicket”.

One of the questions asked to Kohli in the interview was of all the players he batted with, who was his favourite partner. Kohli went on to name not one but two players he particularly enjoyed batting with.

“Two people I have enjoyed most batting with, well I like to bat with people who run well and understand my calling. So, with MS Dhoni for India and with AB de Villiers otherwise. With AB the partnership just flows. We don’t even talk cricket.”

In the same interview, Kohli mentioned that he would never sledge De Villiers or even bring himself to get in the face of players he knows well.

“I will never sledge AB” he said. I have known him so well that I can’t think of being in his face. We all need a bit of spice to be in that zone but not with guys you know so well.”

Kohli also gave his weight on the age-old debate over who is the better player between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese superstar was the favoured option for the Indian skipper.
