Though the IPL franchise agreed to play the matches behind the closed door they request the government to permit the foreign players as the Indian Government imposed fresh visa restriction. Karnataka Government already denied to host the IPL matches in order to avoid the corona spread.

The postponement of the tournament was in thick of things since the time Maharashtra’s Health Minister Rajesh Tope had said that the state government was in discussion with the BCCI to postpone the annual cricket tournament that features cricketing stars from across the world.

Before the BCCI meeting the officials announced that the match will be played mid of the April instead of March 29. However, neither Sourav Ganguly nor the BCCI has confirmed about the meeting of the council or with franchisees.
