Australia women’s Tour of South Africa has been Called-off due to Corona Outbreak

Australian women’s tour of South Africa has been called-off due to the outbreak of corona. After the successful victory over India in the finals of the T20 world cup, Aussies women set to play three ODIs and three T20s in South Africa between March 22 and April 4. As WHO announced corona as ‘pandemic’ the world sports scheduled collapsed. In order to prevent the spread and to guard the players from the infection many events have been called off.

In order to avoid the spread of corona virus the scheduled cricket matches are more likely to called-off. The decision are taken on behalf of the players as well as the crew members  well fare.

Previously Bangladesh Cricket Board(BCB) postponed the Asis X1 vs World X1 match scheduled to mark the birth centenary of the Bangladesh’s father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on March 21 and 22.

In India the scheduled cash-rich Indian Premier League is in oscillation about the execution. Indian Government also imposed visa restriction which may affect the presence of the foreign players. IPL Franchises agreed to play behind the closed door with a condition for the foreign players.

Remaining match of South Africa’s tour of India is likely to meet the same fate as Road Safety World Series which is decided to play behind the closed door. In the upcoming 13th edition of IPL Nine South Africans are roped by IPL teams to play. Three of them – David Miller, Quinton de Kock and Kagiso Rabada – are with the South Africa squad in India. So the participation of them is more likely confirmed.

But it seems the decision will not be the players’ to make on their own. “For the players it’s not a big issue at all,” Jacques Faul, Cricket South Africa’s acting chief executive. “If they get it they will recover. It’s the people in the stands who are the concern. It’s more about public safety, but we are monitoring the situation on a 12-hour basis. Our medical committee is dealing with it, and if we get an expert opinion we will take drastic action.”
