T20 World Cup 2021 Replacement: The much-awaited T20 world Cup 2021 will kickstart from October 23 with the opening match between Australia and South Africa. While the round 1 matches will start from October 17.
All participants of the ICC T20 WC 2021 have named their 15 or 18 or even 21 member squad earlier. But ICC allows the team to change their players with a deadline for the confirmation. This allows the teams to overview their player’s performance and make changes as needed for the tournament.
T20 World Cup 2021 Replacement
October 10, 2021, is the deadline for all the teams to submit their final squad for the T20 World Cup. Following are the details of the replacement players of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 along with the updated squad:
England
- Sam Curran was ruled out of T20 WC 2021 owing to a back injury, where his brother Tom Curran was drafted into England’s squad.
- Left-arm seamer Reece Topley was added as a traveling reserve for the T20 WC 2021.
- Reece Topley has been added to England’s squad for the T20 World Cup 2021 as a replacement player for Tymal Mills.
- Jason Roy was ruled out of the T20 World Cup 2021, James Vince replaces him.
Pakistan
- Sarfaraz Ahmed and Haider Ali have replaced Azam Khan and Mohammad Hasnain respectively, while Fakhar Zaman, who was originally named as a travel reserve, has swapped places with Khushdil Shah.
- All-rounder Shoaib Malik replaces batter Sohaib Maqsood in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 squad.
Ireland
- Shane Getkate, Graham Kennedy, and Barry McCarthy fails to enter the final 15 member squad.
India
- Lukman Meriwala added as Net bowler for ICC T20 World Cup 2021.
- Shardul Thakur replaces Axar Patel in Team India’s 2021 World Cup squad.
- Venkatesh Iyer, Karn Sharma, Shahbaz Ahmed and Krishnappa Gowtham are back in India, they’ll participate in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Umran Malik, Avesh Khan, Harshal Patel and Lukman Meriwala to stay back with team India.
