Most Hundreds in T20 World Cup 2024: During the introduction of the T20 format, scoring a century or hundreds seems next to impossible. But later cricketers made it quite possible with their aggressive batting style.
West Indies batter Chris Gayle scored the first-ever century in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Gayle achieved this massive feat in the inaugural match of the first Men’s T20 World Cup against the hosts South Africa on 11 September 2007.
For almost nine years, his 50-balls century remained the fastest century in the ICC T20 World Cup until Gayle himself broke his own record in the 2016 T20 World Cup. Gayle scored an impressive 47 balls 100 against England at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
With his two centuries, Gayle remains the only batsman to have scored more than one century in the championship. Suresh Raina is the only Indian to score a century in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup history.
