Every participating team in the T20 World Cup 2024 will play each game with the motive of positioning themself in the top spot of the 2024 T20 World Cup Points table in order to advance to the next level of the tournament.
2024 T20 World Cup Points Table
The 9th edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is set to be hosted by the USA and West Indies between June 01 and June 29.
- A total of 55 matches is set to be played among 20 nations across various venues in the USA and Caribbean.
- All participating teams have been divided into four groups of five teams and will be competing with each other in a round-robin format.
- The top two teams of each group will advance to the Super Eight Stage where the teams will be divided into two groups of four teams based on their points.
- The top 2 teams of each group in the Super 8s will enter the Knockout stage.

Super 8s
The top two teams in each group of the group stage points table will be placed into two groups of four teams in the Super 8 stage. Super 8s will be played as a single round-robin, with the top two teams in each group advancing to the knockout stage.

2024 T20 World Cup Points Table Allocation
If a team wins a match, they get two points, and if the match results in a tie, both teams will be awarded one point each. If a match is abandoned or cannot be completed due to weather or other reasons, both sides will receive one point each.
- Teams will receive two points for a WIN
- Teams will receive one point for a TIE or NO RESULT (Match Abandoned)
What If more than one team shares the same points:
- If teams were tied on points, then the number of wins and the net run rate were used to separate them, and the teams with the maximum number would qualify for the Knockout stage.
Men’s T20 World Cup Winners List
England and West Indies are the most successful teams in Men’s T20 World Cup history with two victories each. The tournament’s previous edition was hosted by Australia where England clinched the title for the second time by defeating Pakistan at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
