Namibia Batting

Namibia needs to build a massive opening partnership to chase down the massive target of 190 runs under 20 overs. Facing aggressive Pakistan bowlers won’t be an easy task for Namibia batsmen.
As expected Hasan Ali in 2nd over of the innings dismissed Michael van Lingen for 4 runs and draws the first blood for Namibia. But Michael van Lingen and Craig Williams made a partnership against an aggressive Pakistan bowling attack.
The duo added 47 runs for their next wicket where Stephan Baard loses his wicket via an unwanted run-out. Namibia skipper Gerhard Erasmus join hands with Williams but the Namibia batsmen fails to create momentum with bat which could drag them to a better state in chasing this massive target.
But the Namibia bowlers struggle to make massive shots and starts to lose wickets in regular interval. With 62 runs needed off the last 6 balls, which is next to impossible Namibia lost the match by 45 runs. Pakistan added another victory to their ICC T20 World Cup 2021 campaign.

Player of the Match
It was difficult to bat initially and conditions proved to be very tricky for both of us (Me and Babar). Even when we tried to play normal shots or big hits, it just didn’t work out and then we decided to take it deep and attack at the end.
But that said, I want to give the credit to the (Namibia) bowlers because they kept bowling in the same area at the start and bowled really well. Hafeez’s innings gave us the momentum and he kept telling me to stay patient and in the last over I decided to go hard and got some useful runs.
We are gelling well as a team and have ticked all the boxes and will see what lies ahead for us.
