Will bowl first. Last game there was a lot of dew in the second half. Mujeeb isn’t playing. We always prepare for both, but today we’ll bowl first because of dew. We’ll play normal cricket and go and enjoy.

Firstly there’s no denying the fact that the situation is a tricky one. Having said that there’s still a chance. We as a team will look at the chance and try to play positive cricket. We know we haven’t played up to potential whatever the reasons might be – need to brush that aside.
Would have bowled first. But it’s not a bad thing against a side like Afghanistan who look to put up runs on the board. A couple of changes – Surya is back as he’s fit. Ashwin replaces Varun who has a bit of a niggle.

Afghanistan Batting
If India restrict Afghanistan to 99 or less, their NRR will be more than Afghanistan’s and New Zealand’s
Hazratullah Zazai and Mohammad Shahzad opens the batting attack while Shami opens the bowling attack.
Shami in the 3rd over picked the first wicket of the innings by dismissing Shahzad for duck while Afghanistan scored 13 runs.
In the very next over Bumrah dismissed Hazratullah Zazai for 13 runs and breaks the Afghan batting’s unit belief of scoring big. But Gurbaz smashed the next over for 19 runs bowled by Shami and tries to make momentum.
But Jadeja in the seventh over dismissed Gurbaz and breaks the momentum created by Afghanistan.

Rohit Sharma – BAT: 74 runs off 47 balls
The idea was to go after it and get off to a good start, which didn’t happen in the first two games and lay the platform for the others. Exceptional batting from Rahul and that partnership was vital.
We were prepared to field first, and it was a good pitch to bat on. Getting to a respectable total was important, and the NRR could come into play so we had to win by a good margin, so glad we got that.
Today it was necessary to get off to a good start, and that’s not my natural game – I usually like to get in. So I made an effort to settle in, play cricketing shots, and put up a big total.
