England Batting
Roy and Buttler gets into the crease to lead England while Chameera opens the bowling attack. Hasaranga in his first over dismissed Roy for 9 runs and makes the early wicket as expected by Sri Lanka.
England after losing their opening wicket struggles to build a partnership. Adding pressure to this Chameera dismissed Malan for 6 runs in the 5th over where Hasaranga dismissed Bairstow for golden duck in the followed over and made England to score 36 runs for 3 wickets loss at the end of the powerplay.
The duo added a massive 112 runs partnership for their next wicket. Hasaranga finally breaks the partnership by dismissing skipper Eoin Morgan for 40 runs. Buttler with a six off the last delivery scored his maiden T20I century where England scored 163 runs for 4 wickets loss.Â
Though England struggles at the beginning they show their class performance skill by making a huge turn in the scoreboard.

Sri Lanka Batting
Nissanka and Kusal Perera gets into the crease to chase down the massive target of 164 runs while Moeen Ali opens the bowling attack.
Sri Lanka too needs to build a massive partnership and should maintain the required run rate of 8+ to chase down England’s target. But Moeen Ali in his very first over dismissed Nissanka via run-out dismissal and ends up the over with providing just 2 runs.
Kusal Perera then joins hands with Charith Asalanka and leads Sri Lanka. SL batsmen struggle to make a partnership and start to lose wickets in regular intervals of time. Wanindu Hasaranga scored the team’s best run of 34 from 21 balls.
Sri Lanka puts it all effort but fails to defend England’s bowling attack and wind up the innings with a score of 137 runs while losing all 10 wickets for 19 overs.

I think staying patient was the key (when England lost early wickets), but I managed to get a partnership with Morgan. There was a point when we were thinking to get to the 120-run mark, but then we got going and got 160-plus.
I use the same bat, even in the nets. It feels good. We were under pressure for a long time during that chase. I was trying to guess where he was going to bowl, I was pretty calm and trying to be patient.
