India advanced to semi final in the womens T20I world cup 2020 as the rain abandoned the match against England womens in Sydney. According to the ICC rules India advanced to the finals despite of the un-expected incident that happened in semi. After the successful entry into finals Indian womens team start receiving wishes from everyone.
ICC rules
As per the ICC rules, both innings needed to have at least five overs to constitute a match. However, in ICC tournaments, the minimum over-limit goes to 10 overs per side. So if rain forces the match to be less than 10 overs per innings, the match is deemed as ‘abandoned’.
