Ellyse Perry also captained the franchise in their back-to-back title-winning in 2016-17 and 2017-18. While playing for the Sydney Sixers, Perry tops the list of most runs for the 2017–18 and 2018–19 seasons and even won the Player of the Tournament award for her amazing 778 runs in the 2018–19 season.

In the past 12 months, the right-hander has improved her batting game to accommodate the changing T20 style. Since her return to the middle order, Perry scored 374 runs at a strike rate of 157.14 and an average of 53.42, with four half-centuries in 11 T20I innings.

“It’s a lovely feeling to be able to continue at the Sixers for another two WBBL seasons. The club has been a special part of my career for almost a decade, and I am proud of what we have achieved, both on and off the field, especially in terms of connecting with and inspiring lots of girls and boys to be involved in the game.

I’m really looking forward to the challenge this season presents and seeing as many fans as we can at North Sydney Oval and the SCG,” Perry told.

Alyssa Healy and Ellyse Perry hold the record for scoring the highest partnership runs in WBBL history. The duo scored an unbeaten 199 runs against Melbourne Stars in a match on 3 November 2019.

Perry also shares the “player to bag most player of the match award” title with her teammate Alyssa Healy. The duo bagged a total of 19 awards each so far.

“To be able to play at the SCG on November 26 (against the Thunder) in a stand-alone WBBL match for the first time is a significant step forward and a reflection of the ever-growing appetite for large numbers of fans to be able to watch women’s sport at our world-class sporting venues.

I think both the Sixers and Thunder can be truly ambitious about attracting a great crowd for the Sydney Smash”, she added.
