Varun Chakravarthy’s Funny Claim on His Family
The Craze for Chennai Super Kings and their fanbase is incredible. The major credit goes to MS Dhoni as wherever he goes, the fans in the yellow jersey keep following him.
It has become so intense, that other players’ families of various franchises support MS Dhoni by wearing a Yellow jersey instead of supporting the team their son plays.
Such an incident took place on April 08, Varun Chakravarthy who plays for KKR visited Chennai Stadium for home-away fixtures in the IPL 2024 where his family wore yellow jerseys supporting the opponents of the team his son’s playing. He represents the Tamil Nadu team in the domestic circuit.
He has spent a lot of time in Chepauk and could have offered advice before the match about the pitch. But, CSK emerged victorious in the match by seven wickets.
CSK won the toss and opted to bowl first on the track which looked bowling-friendly. KKR had a poor start as Ravindra Jadeja claimed the wickets of Philip Salt, Sunil Narine, and Angkrish Raghuvanshi.
Following their dismissals, the KKR batting unit collapsed entirely and scored only 137 runs. Varun was the only player who did not come to bat.
Varun Chakravarthy hoped for his family to support him and his team. But to his surprise, they were seen in Yellow jerseys which showed the fanbase for CSK.
While speaking in the post-match interview, “My entire family came to watch the game at Chepauk but all of them are in yellow.”– said Varun Chakravarthy.
Despite the side’s defeat, Varun had the cheapest economy rate on the CSk clash. He had only 6.50 economy but went wicketless during the match.
coming to the tournament, KKR managed to remain in the second spot in the IPL 2024 points table after their defeat against CSK.
Kolkata will be playing their next match against Lucknow Super Giants on April 14 at Eden Gardens.
