Player of the match
Heather Knight | England
Feels really good, It’s hard work out there, the crowd kept us in the game. We can be a lot better but the fight we have shown is remarkable. I was just trying to stay calm and it was quite hard to remain fluent with the bat and really pleased to be there and finishing off.
Just had a chat with her and backed her to do it (on Kate Cross slamming one to the fine leg fence), kept encouraging her to take the positive option. There’s a lot we can do better, especially the first 10-15 overs with the ball, but it is important to keep winning and keep the momentum going.
Lots of people standing up again which is really pleasing. We feel like we are gaining a lot of momentum and I wanted to be there at the end, lots of family and friends watching and really nice to finish it off.
The support from the crowd is unreal again. It’s been awesome and that support really made the difference for us and hopefully it will continue in the next 2 games as well.
