We are going to have a bowl. I think just having a look at the wicket, it has been challenging for us to know what a good score is, so we want to have a look. We take out a lot (from the series win against West Indies), all the positives and all the negatives.
We know what a power-packed side they are, looking at our performances we know where we can cool them down. (Area of focus) Probably the batting. I think that would be the one I would highlight and like to show a better batting display. Quinny is out and Reeza is in. He (de Kock) has made himself unavailable for personal reasons.

I always say toss is 50-50. It is an opportunity for us to bat first, put things right and we look forward to the challenge. Like I said we play a lot of cricket and something that we all have experienced at some point in time, we all deal with challenges in different ways, it is matter of us understanding on what we did wrong and how to fix it.
The guys have been upbeat despite what happened a couple of days ago. We have just one forced change; McCoy misses out and Hayden Walsh gets an opportunity. He did well in the recent bilateral series and we look forward to his legspin, the art and energy that he brings.

Simmons and Lewis gets into the crease to lead West Indies while Markram opens the bowling attack. The duo makes an impressive start where they leads the West Indies to score 43 runs for no wickets loss at the end of the 6 overs.
South African bowlers struggles to break the partnership which makes them to score 65 runs for no wickets loss at the end of the 10 overs. In the followed over Maharaj makes the first wicket by dismissing Lewis for 56 runs and draws the first blood.
Post Lewis’ dismissal West Indies struggles to make a partnership and loses their wickets in regular interval. With Pollard’s 26 runs off 20 deliveries West Indies scored 143 runs for 8 wickets loss at the end of the 20 overs.

Temba Bavuma and Reeza Hendricks gets into the crease to chase down the 143 runs target while Akeal Hosein opens the bowling attack.
Hosein makes a huge wicket of the very first over by dismissing Bavuma for just 2 runs while South Africa scored 4 off the 1st over. Rassie van der Dussen joins hand with Hendricks and makes an impressive partnership.
The duo makes an impressive partnership of 57 runs for their next wicket. Akeal Hosein dismissed Hendricks for 39 runs where SA scored 61 runs.
Aiden Markram on joining hands with Rassie van der Dussen makes the winning partnership and makes South Africa to register their first victory of ICC T20 WC 2021 by beating West Indies by 8 wickets.

Player of the Match
100 percent, it’s (playing IPL in the UAE) helped me quite a lot. It’s helped us as well being able to give some information to the team on conditions, that’s probably the situation for all the players in all the teams.
Just having the confidence of knowing the conditions and understanding what to do, when to do it definitely has helped me coming here. It was a good wicket, similar to the IPL, playing around with the ball with the grip – definitely it brings in some extra variation and something else to the bowlers.
It’s always nice working with him (Rabada), his ideas and knowledge about game in the situation. It’s not a lot about skill anymore, it’s about understanding and communication on the field. It’s really nice to have him around. We said we were quite happy with that happened in the game (against Australia).
With the batting, we wanted to improve. What the guys did out there was awesome. Hopefully we can build on this. I don’t think we’re close to a perfect game, but we can keep on building and try to get as close to that perfect game as possible. That’s all I want to do – just keep on improving every day.
