    Captains View

    Kane Williamson | New Zealand

We are going to bowl, dew factor at this time of the year. Hopefully a bit of movement in the surface like the other night. Look forward to another challenge against these guys who are obviously one of the favorites in the tournament. One change, Adam Milne comes in for Tim Seifert.

Just gives us a nice balance to our bowling attack, provides us the extra pace as well. Conway will keep.

    Virat Kohli | India

We would have bowled first as well. We need a solid start and have wickets in hand to get those extra 20-25 runs are the learnings from the last game. We do have the bowling line-up to take wickets, but when you don’t have runs on the board one partnership can take the game away from you.

We understand that and plans are there to get those extra runs. It’s ridiculous, we are playing twice in 10 days. Too long a break, but yeah, the guys have recovered well. Had good practice sessions, are itching to go out on the field, which is a good thing.

When you have so many days off you want to get on the park and get into the groove. It’s another opportunity to come out and correct the mistakes. Two changes. One forced, Surya has a lower back spasm, so Ishan Kishan will replace him and open the batting. Shardul Thakur replaces Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

    India Batting

KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan get into the crease to lead India in their crucial match while Boult opens the bowling attack.

Team India makes a very slow start to withstand the wickets which makes them to score just 6 runs off the first two overs. In the followed over Boult dismissed Ishan Kishan for 4 runs and draws the first blood.

Rohit Sharma walks to the crease and joins hands with KL Rahul. Though Rohit makes an impressive start by hitting a boundary and six off Milne’s 1st over, he can’t withstand Ish Sodhi’s attack and loses his wicket after KL Rahul’s dismissal.

India’s batting unit collapsed like pack of cards after Rohit Sharma’s dismissal. Virat Kohli scored 9 runs while Pandya scored 23 runs and breaks Indian fans’ hearts.

Jadeja with his 26 runs off 19 balls drags India to score 110 runs for 7 wickets loss at the end of the 20 overs.

Guptill and Daryl Mitchell gets into the crease to lead New Zealand while Chakaravarthy opens the bowling attack.

India needs to pick early wickets in order to stay alive in this tournament. As expected Bumrah dismissed Guptill for 20 runs and makes the first wicket for New Zealand.

Skipper Kane Williamson join hands with Daryl Mitchell and leads NZ. Indian bowlers struggle to dismiss the New Zealand players as this duo added a match-winning knock of 72 runs partnership.

After smashing Indian bowlers Daryl Mitchell dismissed for 49 runs and missed his ICC T20 WC 2021 half-century. In the mid of the 15th over New Zealand win the match by 8 wickets and moves to a better position in ICC T20 WC 2021.

    Player of the Match

    Ish Sodhi

I am usually big on pre-match prep, with this bubble life we haven’t been able to see the ground until the day we come to the ground. The wicket here was one we had to adapt to pretty quickly.

It was very different to what we played in Sharjah. The boundary sizes were very different. A big part of our game is using the spin bowlers in the middle. It was set up by the powerplay bowlers.

Tim Southee getting that wicket late in the powerplay was massive for us and allowed us to do our job through the middle. We had a tough loss against Pakistan, it was hard not to think this is a really big game. Coming into the game we wanted to play as good a game we possibly could. To play the way we did tonight is one to definitely celebrate.
