• In 2015, the stadium was closed and demolished before being completely rebuilt by February 2020, with an estimated cost of ₹800 crore (US$100 million).
• The redesigned stadium occupies 63 acres of land, with three entry points as compared to one in the old stadium, with a metro line at one of the entry points.
