Eden Garden Stadium Weather Today:Â The second-largest cricket stadium in India and the third-largest in the world was established in 1864. The stadium was operated by the Cricket Association of Bengal and was owned by the Eastern Command of the Indian Army.
Initially named the ‘Auckland Circus Gardens’, the park was renamed the ‘Eden Gardens’ in 1841. Eden Gardens is in the B. B. D. Bagh area of the city, near the State Secretariat and across the Calcutta High Court.
Eden Gardens was the home venue for the IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders who won the title a couple of times in 2012, and 2014.

Eden Gardens Stands
Which Is The Best Stand In Eden Gardens: In 2017, four stands at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens stadium were named after Indian Army martyrs. Cricket Association of Bengal President Sourav Ganguly and Army’s Lieutenant General Praveen Bakshi dedicated the stands to 1962 Indo-China war martyrs Subedar Joginder Singh and Lieutenant Colonel Dhan Singh Thapa. Two other stands were named after Late Colonel NJ Nair and Late Havaldar Hangpan Dada.
