Before the New Zealand tour of Scotland 2022, Black Caps will tour Ireland to play 3 ODI matches and as many as T20I matches.
Both teams have played only T20I match so far that too in the aforementioned World Cup game in 2009. In the only T20I match played, NZ beat Scotland by 7 wickets after the game was reduced to just 7 overs due to rain. The upcoming T20I will be their second T20I clash ever.
New Zealand’s star players such as Kane Williamson, Trent Boult, Tim Southee, and Devon Conway will not feature in New Zealand tour of Scotland 2022. Notably, NZ head coach Gary Stead will take a break during the series against the Ireland, with bowling coach Shane Jurgensen to take up the coaching role.
Adam Milne has been picked for both T20I and ODI squads and is expected to play his first ODI in nearly five years, while Glenn Phillips has been added to the NZ ODI squad for the first time.
