Sarfaraz Khan’s father Naushad Khan went emotional and gave a poetic reply after his son was handed a Test debut for India before the third Test against England.
Naushan Khan was seen in tears of join and also shared his happiness with former Cricketer Aakash Chopra in the commentary box on day 01 at the Rajkot Test.

Sarfaraz Khan received his test cap from the legend cricketer Anil Kumble, and his father coach Naushad shed tears during the occasion which went viral across social media platforms.
While Aakash Chopra asked how he felt on the Test debut, Naushad delivered a poetic reply, “It takes time for the night to pass; the sun is not going to rise according to my wish.”
His words reflected the struggles and patience often required on the path to achieving one’s dreams. Sarfaraz Khan who has an impressive first-class average of 70 had been anticipated to make his debut for a long time.
His debut comes after his impressive innings for India A against England Lions on England’s tour of India 2024. He has replaced Shreyas Iyer in the playing 11 alongside Dhruv Jurel who also made his Test debut after replacing KS Bharat.
Initially, he was called up for the Test squad for the series as a replacement for KL Rahul who was rested from the second Test at Vizag test.
Batting first, India’s opener Rohit Sharma smashed a century where India lost three wickets at the time of writing. Ravindra Jadeja joined Rohit Sharma and smashed a half-century helping the side to reach 200+ plus scores.
Mark Wood dismissed two wickets in the match while Tom Hartley dismissed Rajat Patidar for 5 runs on the first day of the Rajkot Test.
