Pakistan cricketer Zaman Khan has openly challenged India’s pace sensation Umran Malik who is well-known for his ability to bowl 150kph+ delivery consistently.
Zaman Khan Challenges Umran Malik
Emerging Pakistan pacer Zaman Khan who has not yet made his international debut made a bold claim to break Umran Malik’s fastest ball record in the upcoming PSL 2023 scheduled to begin on February 13.
“I will break the record of Umran Malik’s fastest ball in this Pakistan Super League edition In Shaa Allah,” said the pacer.
As per PSL 2023 squad, Zaman Khan will play for Lahore Qalandars while the team will be led by Shaheen Afridi. Lahore Qalandars will play their first match of the season against Multan Sultans on the first day of the tournament at Multan Cricket Stadium, Multan.
“If you talk about pace… I don’t really care about pace. I care about performances. It’s the performance that matters. Your pace is natural to you,” Zaman had told a local media channel.
The thirst for the tournament has increased right after the board confirms that they will launch a newly designed trophy for the 2023 edition to better represent Pakistan and its cricket.
On speaking about Umran Malik’s fastest delivery, he clocked a speed of 155kph in a T20I match and broke the record of Bumrah for the faster ball bowled by an Indian. Umran achieved this feat in January 2023 during a match against Sri Lanka at Wankhede Stadium Mumbai.
However, his fastest delivery was in the IPL, when he touched 157kph in a match against Mumbai Indians. Umran Malik made his T20 international debut on 26 June 2022 against Ireland while made his ODI debut on 25 November 2022 against New Zealand.
