    Yuvraj Khatri Sustains Injury During Wicket Celebration in U-19 Asia Cup

    Young spinner Yuvraj Khatri has injured himself while celebrating a wicket in the team’s U-19 Asia Cup 2024 match against Bangladesh.

    Playing for Nepal, Khatri put up a sensation performance against Bangladesh on December 01. He picked up 4 wickets from his 6 overs while Khatri landed himself in trouble.

    The incident happened when caught Rizan Hossain in front of the stumps in the 28th over of the match. Over-joyed Khatri started jumping around, and eventually twisted his left foot.

    Yuvraj Khatri immediately fell to the ground and winced in pain. He is not the only person to injure himself while celebrating in the recent times.

    Australia pacer Jhye Richardson who is currently playing in the Sheffield Shield has also pulled his shoulder muscle while celebrating a wicket.

    The incident happened in West Australia’s match against South Australia earlier in November. In the match, Jhye Richardson claimed back-to-back wickets in his opening over removed South Australian Conor Mclnerney and No.3 Daniel Drew in consecutive deliveries.

    Yuvraj was carried out of the ground by his teammates and Nepal ended up losing the match as Bangladesh chased down the target with 5 wickets to spare.

    Currently, Nepal secured the third position in Group B of the U-19 Asia Cup points table with suffering two defeats.

    Nepal’s last group stage match will be against Afghanistan on December 03 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
