The young rising star in Indian cricket Yashasvi Jaiswal recalls the sledging incident ahead of the West Indies tour. The heated argument between Yashasvi and Ravi Teja resulted in sending the young player out of the field by West Zone captain Rahane.
Yashasvi Jaiswal Sledges With Ravi Teja in Duleep Trophy 2023
During a Duleep Trophy 2023 match the South zone batter Ravi Teja had complained about the sledging by Jaiswal firing at him.
He dominated the opponent bowlers with his skills, irrespective of their high skills. It is not only in the game he would not bow down in front of opponents. In a recent interview, Jaisawal was quite loud to say that he would not make any tolerance when he gets sledged during a game.
For the interview sayings that sledging doesn’t happen in IPL, Yashasvi replies, “Who says that? It happens to everyone. But not everybody gets to know it. If anyone says me anything about my mother and sister, I would not listen to it,” added the youngster.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s Journey as Cricketer
Yashasvi Jaiswal has been among one of the younger players in Indian cricket expected to represent the national team in the future. Since his top-class debut in a Ranji Trophy matches against Chattisgarh in January 2019, he was putting up a good display of his skills in the show.
Jaiswal has an average of 80.21 in 15 games, scoring 1845 runs with nine centuries and two half-centuries. Jaiswal also has an average of 53.96 in 32 List A games, becoming the youngest double-centurion in the format when he scored 203 runs off just 154 balls for Mumbai in January 2019, scoring against Jharkhand at the age of 17.
Yashasvi Jaiswal made his debut in 2020, but the season 2023 turned out to be the most important aspect in deciding his career. Only playing 14 matches for Rajasthan Royals, the batter scored 625 runs at a superb strike of 163.61. His average in the season was around 48.08.
He scored a century but should have been considered as two due to his score of 98 off just 47 balls in his side Rajasthan Royals’ nine-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders. Jaiswal now has the record for the fastest IPL 50s in that match and came within a ball of equalling Yuvraj Singh’s record of the fastest fifty overall in T20 cricket.
Now Jaiswal’s excellent profile with bat paid off after he earned a maiden India call-up for the Test series against West Indies. Be noted, he was also a part of India’s reserves for the World Test Championship (WTC).
India’s Tour of West Indies
Apart from Jaiswal, players like Ruturaj Gaikwad and Mukesh Kumar have been also included in the Test squad for the tour of the West Indies.
But regarding the selection of West Indies Series squad selection, the omission of Sarfaraz Khan by the selection committee had bought many controversies that include Sunil Gavaskar, Sourav Ganguly and the Former Indian women’s team coach WV Raman.
There is also controversy about the selection of Rahane as the Vice-Captain of the Test Series as Rohit Sharma’s fitness is at Stake.
The West Indies tour opens with a Test match on July 12 in Dominica, with the second test to be scheduled from July 20 in Trinidad’s Queen’s Park Oval. It is followed by three ODIs series starting on July 27, and a five-match T20I series beginning on August.
As the squad for the Test match and ODIs are announced the squad for T20 is yet to be announced by the selection committee.
The ODI squad is set up with a lot of regulars, with Ruturaj Gaikwad finding himself as a part of the Test Series.
