Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag smashed fifties during the IPL 2024 match played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals on May 02 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag’s knock helped the side to recover from early dismissals on Thursday clash. With a response to Sunrisers Hyderabad’s 202 runs, the young batters proved to be key contributors for the side.

Coming to the match, SRH chose to bat first where Travis Head and Abhishek Porel opened for the side. Abhishek was sent out on the delivery from Avesh Khan where he missed the timing to pull it over the fielder in the deep. Dhruv Jurel picked the catch in the deep square leg and Sharma was dismissed for 12 runs.

Anmolpreet Singh who came to bat scored only 5 runs before being dismissed by Sandeep Sharma. He tried a straight-away shot where Jaiswal dived forward at midwicket to dismiss Anmolpreet Singh.

On this occasion, Nitish Kumar came to bat and joined hands with Head to have 96 partnership runs. Travis Head smashed his 50 on 37 deliveries and was dismissed by Avesh Khan for 58 runs which included 6 fours and 3 sixes.

Klaasen joined Nitish Kumar who was showing batting prowess smashing an unbeaten 78 runs. With Heinrich Klaasen’s 42 runs on 19 deliveries, SRH was able to set a target score of 202 runs for RR by the end of 20 overs.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler opened for Rajasthan Royals where Buttler was sent out on a golden duck by Bhuvneshwar Kumar on the second ball of the over.

He also dismissed Sanju Samson on a duck bagging two wickets in his first over. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag joined hands to cross the 50-run mark by the end of 5th over.

They scored a partnership score of 134 runs for the 3rd wicket before Yashasvi was sent to dug out by T. Natarajan for 67 runs while Riyan Parag smashed 77 runs on 49 deliveries before being dismissed by Pat Cummins.

With Shimron Hetmyer and Dhruv Jurel’s dismissal for 13 and 1 runs, Rovman Powell continued to bat until the end in the pursuit of chasing the target.

But he was sent out on a lbw on the last ball of the innings with 27 runs. Finally, Rajasthan Royals lost the thrilling encounter by one run difference.
