The opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has become the third Indian youngest batter to hit a double century on a Test during the the second match of England’s India tour 2024.
Young Indian batters to hit Test Double Century
The Left-handed batter completed his maiden double century on Day 02 of the second Test in Vizag. He was 22 years and 77 days old when he reached the milestone and became the third Youngest Indian to achieve this feat.
By the end of Day 01, Yashasvi Jaiswal remained unbeaten with a score of 179 runs. While he resumed the innings on Day 02, he smashed his first 200+ score. Rajat Patidar has the second-highest score for India in the second test.
Yashasvi’s score guided the side to set a total of 350+ in the first innings. He has played a total of 6 tests until now and has crossed over 600 runs with the help of two hundred and two fifties. India scored a total of 396 on their first innings on day 02 of the second test.
Vinod Kambli stands first with 224 runs which he scored at the age of 21Y 32d during the match against England in 1993. Sunila Gavaskar has the second spot where he scored a double century at the age of 21Y 277d.
