English Veteran Danni Wyatt-Hodge has made a stunning performance powering the record-breaking chase of 174 runs for Hurricanes during the 10th match of the WBBL 2024 against Brisbane Heat.
Grace Harris made a knock of 75 runs helped Brisbane Heat to a total of 173 runs at Melbourne’s Junction Oval. When it looked to be a competitive target having put down four catches, soon seized control of the game and secured a seven-wicket victory.
Wyatt-Hodge smashed 62 runs from 35 deliveries and earned the Player of the Match award.

Hurricanes’ previous chase came in October 2021 when they hauled a target of 145 against the Stars.
“I thought the pitch was a little bit on the slow side. I just kept it simple really, if the ball was in my areas then go for it,” said Wyatt.
“Just play attacking cricket but being smart about it. I thought that was probably about par. We knew we could chase that if we put our minds to it and get our heads down.
“Me and Lizzie just wanted to make the most of the powerplay and stick to our strengths … keep things simple and play aggressive cricket.”
Lee who forged hands with Danni, was sent out for 38 which disturbed the momentum of the latter.
Heat dismissed Nicola Carey to a catch from Nadine de Klerk, and Wyatt continued to rally, leaving Hobart with a tricky 33 runs from the final three overs.
Grace Parson’s haul of 1-15 from four overs, including the all-important scalp of Wyatt Hodge, gave Brisbane Genuine hope of victory.
Currently, Hobart Hurricanes secured third position while Brisbane Heat secured second position in the WBBL 2024 points table.
Hobart Hurricanes will be playing their next match against Melbourne Stars on November 03 at Junction Oval.
