Saha made his last test appearance in 2021 against New Zealand. Despite playing a crucial knock in the series, the new team management under Rahul Dravid decided to phase out Saha from the team.
He has played over 40 tests and scored 1353 runs in the format while, scored only 41 runs in 9 ODIs.
Making his FC debut in 2007, Saha played for Bengal for over 15 years before being transferred to Tripura.
The former Cricket Association of Bengal chief Avishek Salmiya attempted to persuade Saha to stay, but he indicated that he might not continue playing for Bengal.
After a conversation with Sourav Ganguly, Saha returned to Bengal this season. So far, his return hasn’t been noted as he has zero runs and made three catches across two matches.
One of the finest wicket-keepers of India reportedly doesn’t plan to feature in the India Premier League 2025 season.
Saha was not retained by Gujarat Titans where he represented the side for three years. He is also one of the players who was part of every season of the IPL since its inception in 2008.
He has also represented five franchises, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Punjab Kings (PBKS), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Gujarat Titans (GT).
