The Board of Control for Cricket in India is planning a caravan model for the upcoming WPL 2024 which is set to be played in Bengaluru and Delhi stadium.

The model proposes that the first set of matches will be played in Bengaluru with the inaugural game at the Chinnaswamy Stadium while the Arun Jaitley Stadium will feature in the Playoffs and final.

Initially, the BCCI has planned different venues for the second season of the Women’s Premier League. The first season was held in Mumbai last year and was hosted in two centers.

Because of the operational issues, BCCI has only options for Mumbai and other stadiums, which was not keen on. But Bengaluru and Delhi have eventually been decided by the committee.

The exact matches to be played in both stadiums and dates have been worked out. The BCCI is still quiet about the schedule and dates of the Indian Premier League (IPL) due to the schedule of the General Elections which are expected in the summer.

According to the BCCI source, the Indian Premier League is likely to be held in India regardless of the elections in the country.

The Cash-rich league is likely to start on March 22 and the dates of the elections are likely to be announced around the same time.

On this occasion, BCCI sources have confirmed that IPL will be played in India. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah and Home Minister Amit Shah have been working on scheduling dates. It is foreseen that the IPL 2024 season will also be played in the Caravan model.

BCCI has planned to organize the annual awards function in Hyderabad on January 23. The function has been suspended for three years due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Diana Edulji, a former India Women’s captain and a Supreme Court-appointed administrator is said to be a contender for the CK Nayudu Award. The annual awards ceremony will be conducted before the first test on England’s tour of India in 2024.

India and England will be playing their first test starting on January 24 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
